African Mutual Assistance Association of Missouri, formerly known as Ethiopian Community Association of Missouri was established on April 10, 1983 by visionary Ethiopian refugees basically for mutual assistance and to ease the burden of social adjustment in a new country. The name change has happened due to an ultimum demand for diversity, flexibility and to give opportunity and freedom of functionality to ethnic based communities.

AMAAM is a not for profit 501(C)3 organization that provides supportive, complementary and educational services to African refugees. We are committed to offer quality social services to refugees and immigrants. It has 20 years rock solid experience. Since 1983 It has served as many as 15,000 refugees and immigrants in social adjustment.

African Mutual Assistance Association of Missouri provides social services with out regard to sex, religion, national origin, age, political opinion, income, and disability.

What do I believe? As an American I believe in generosity, in liberty, in the rights of man. These are social and political faiths that are part of me, as they are, I suppose, part of all of us. Such beliefs are easy to express.
